I am one of the readers of many newsletters. As I am living outside of the
US, reading my email messages online is definately not an option. I believe
in many countries around the world (do get charge) for local
connections--and the phone bill in Europe is exorbitant unless you are using
cable or ADSL.

I often do not click on links to continue reading an article--too much time
to be wasted. Personally, I don't prefer html newsletters. They take a
century to download (I am still using 56K modem) and I can't even view the
images while offline. But, who has time to view the images? Unless you are
selling a vacation trip or a book. And who wants to look at your photo in
front of the computer in your bedroom (in your bijamas). Or an empty seat
with the back barewall facing the screen. You silly.

Most importantly, I often need to scroll left a little, right a little to
fit the message body on my preset OE screen--such a drag! Why adding ton of
links to the sides? There are enought info and links in the message already.
How many readers do you think will have time to check out the links? You are
being too generous with free information.

I prefer newsletters that just stick to one subject each mailing. Giving
complete, short but concise articles with relevant info. (Who wants to know
what your wife/husband is cooking today). Complete and concise articles are
more interesting to read. If we need to read more about it we are more
likely to sign-on again and follow the links (or we will keep it inbox until
later). And please, do break-up your message into smaller chunks--unless you
want to save some paper [!;-)). Weekly newsletters are also a big turn-off.

Et voila, you have one feedback to disect. Send me an email if you plan to
visit Paris, France.
