[epub] HTML vs. Text (from a reader's view)

> > The conclusion seems unavoidable to me - it is largely HTML format
> > publications that will make it as major, long term, viable media.

Hi, I am just wondering that how many people out there like to read the
WebMonkey newsletter or the InternetDay?

WebMonkey has this strong black background that usually intimidated your
eyes and brain.

InternetDay has real bright red side bars and sometimes with huge red
titles. I always need to scroll to left then right to fit the message body
on my OE screen. It also gives me better chance to skip the ads in the
middle because it's well stand out.

Lockergnome's paragraphs are too long--I often got drowned.

It must be just me that simple text attracts my attention and bright stuff
distracts my appetite for information. So I no longer looking forward to
receiving these newsletters but have not unsubscribed just yet. I understand
HTML are nicer, prettier, more professional and business oriented--but what
is the use if the readers don't want to read it?

By the way, they look extremely un-professional (offline) too--because most
of the designs and graphics don't show. They are just broken links.

Publishers are asking for feedback from real readers--not graphic designers
or business professionals. You do what you think is best for your groups.
