Re: [epub] HTML vs. Text (from a reader's view)

I understand
HTML are nicer, prettier, more professional and business
oriented--but what
is the use if the readers don't want to read it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been staying out of this argument, but I want to agree with
this.  I have OE and the bells and whistles, AND a cable
connection.  Even so, given the chance between HTML and Plain Text
in an ezine, I always pick Plain Text.  Why?  Because as a listmom
I get sooo many emails that its much easier for me to read plain
text.
I find sound, moving graphics, bright colors, etc. immensely
annoying.  And I HATE, HATE, HATE having to click on a link to
read the rest of the article.
I've thought about offering an HTML version of Homefires Hearth,
but with almost 5300 subscribers, I've never gotten a single
request for the pretty stuff!  And I code and upload each page to
my website.  Even then, its done in simple Comic Sans font and no
fancy graphics other than ad banners on the site.  We're
international an simplicity and ease of use are what I aim for.
This is just my personal opinion.  But I subscribe to NO ezines in
HTML and I'm happy with my choice.  Every one I've subbed to I've
ended up either switching to their Plain Text version or
unsubbing.
