While I very much agree that content is more important than
format, I just don't think the 'Net is ready yet for widespread
html newsletters/ezines going out via email.  Resident on your
site, with the option to subscribe to a plain text copy going out
in email, yes, but not html via email.

Coincidentally there was just an article on this subject in Jim
Wilson's (Jim World) Gazette (Issue #111, Feb. 5 - circulation
250,000) recommending plain text only.  It seems that spammers
have wreaked so much havoc with sending out html formatted junk
mail, some of it with nasty java embedded script, that there is a
big push on requesting the major email client software vendors to
start shipping their software out with the defaults turned OFF
for html.  His recommendation is that ezine/newsletter publishers
who don't offer plain text versions are going to see a big drop
in membership.
