Right Kent - the line in my sig file that goes Website: <a
href="http://www.dressmaker.com....etc. will show up in  the aol
mail reader like this:

Website:  Jane Ellen's

That's it - no other code in that line will show.  The words Jane
Ellen's will be blue (highlighted), meaning they're clickable and
will go to my website.  It makes no difference what you put in
for the anchor tag - could be anything, as long as it makes some
sort of sense.  Lots of people use click here - but that's
considered poor form, if you can use a more descriptive term.

The line that goes <a
href="http://www.southernyorkcountypa.com...etc. is set up a
little different, because the url is longer, and I have my email
client set up to break at 65 character line length, so I couldn't
get the words Website: on that line too.  That line will show up
with only the words Local Portal, in blue, highlighted.  But I
figured they'd get the hang of it anyway by that time.

Lots of people don't want to junk up their sig files and
newsletters with the coding being embedded - another way to do it
is supply a list of aol clickable links at the bottom of your
ezine and refer the aol reader there.  There's no easy way - no
matter how you do it its inconvenient for somebody, but we are
stuck with aol's email reader, and they have showed no
inclination to fix the problem for 5 years now, and probably
won't for another 5 I'm guessing.  Trouble is, they do represent
a rather large slice of readers, so it makes sense to try and
accommodate them if we can.  A large portion of my customers come
from aol, which is why I have the aol formats in my sig file.
