One way would be to visit the newsgroups pertaining to (1) role playing games
in general; (2) your particular role playing game.  Do NOT flood the
newsgroup with ads for your newsletter or website--you will invoke the wrath
of regulars and earn yourself a summary "ignore" status. Instead, participate
in the discussion, speak from your experience, become known as a
giver-of-information (just becoming a known name will raise you to status of
"expert" in many cases).  Always include your signature block:
        Dave Frazier,
        Publisher of [Name of Newsletter]
       Give the URL and a
        ONE LINE catch-phrase or motto

When a question arises in the newsgroups that has been covered in your
newsletter, it is acceptable to say so, and then quote the relevant
information or briefly summarize it ... this way you don't force readers to
your website or to subscribe, but you give them a taste of the kinds of
regular information they'd find.  Over time, readers will come to trust you
and will subscribe to get more of what you have to offer.

This also applies to message boards at various private websites.

Another way is to visit the similar and/or related Web sites.  Dialog with
the owners of other newsletters, offter to swap articles of equal quality or
to swap free ads for each other.
