I have seen many ways of accomdating the links that
don't make it look bad.

In my newsletter about a third are AOL. I was interested
in seeing how many were actually reading it and so
put a link in that by clicking you gained an entry in a
$50 gift certificate giveaway. I had very few entries
and mentioned it in a following newsletter. SEVERAL Aol
members wrote in saying that the link wasn't clickable
so they didn't bother. I had forgotten to make that link
clickable for them.

I find that the first time someone has to work at something
they move on, and the AOL crowd is to big to ignore.
