Joe,

I've had the same problem with PMG.  In fact I've found the same problem
when I cut and paste out of MS Outlook Express as well.  I've reconciled
myself to fixing by hand...and I always utilize the "Send Test Message" to
myself and an editor to make sure we catch any of the freaky characters.

One thing you might try is saving the doc as a .txt file and then doing the
cut and paste.  Other than that I can't think of anything.
