Hi all. >$10 per issue? That's $25 CPM. Many publishers aren't even getting 1/10th of >that. Unless you have an extremely targeted list, you're not going to get >more than $1 CPM. The best thing for such a small list to do is run affiliate >ads until they reach the point where they can start to sell adverts, this is >usually somewhere around the 10,000 mark. I'm sure this conventional thinking has many people nodding in agreement. I followed the same advice, before deciding to act on someone's suggestion to just "go for it" and see what the market will stand. To my surprise, I sold top spot ads for $40 each, when I had 1750 to 2000 subscribers - a CPM of close to $20. Ad affiliate programs were offering to sell my ad inventory for CPM of $1 to $2 at the time !!! The lesson I learned: There is no logic or rationale to ad pricing on ezines. Test out your market - you just might be pleasantly surprised. -- Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian, M.D. Cardiothoracic Surgeon Heart Disease Online http://www.DrMani.com drmani@vsnl.com ------------------------------------------------------------ ATTENTION EZINE PUBLISHERS AND LIST MODERATORS: Where do you turn when sticky issues arise with subscribers or list members?
