[epub] Confirm Reminder Notices
Dave of Noises from the Basement was kind enough to send me the
confirm reminder notice that he uses. Yesterday I sent mine out to
those who'd not confirmed and had been dropped by my system (the way
my listserver works is it keeps requests but drops them from the
pending system once a week).

I've gotten a wonderful response so far! At least 40 out of around
100 letters (not keeping track of exact numbers) hit reply to my
notice and I've manually added them. A few others found their
original confirmation notices and sent them in. This is something I
wish I'd done a LONG time ago!

A copy of my notice, adapted from Dave's, is under my sig for your use
if you wish. Those who have their own listservers or do it manually,
I'd HIGHLY recommend a second confirmation notice. Many of those
responding took the time to tell me they never got the first notice
and given the state of lost emails and ISPs dumping mail these days, I
believe them.

Hi!

Sometime in the past few days you indicated an interest in receiving
Homefires Hearth, the weekly ezine for Christian Homemakers. You were
sent an email requesting confirmation after subscribing. That's known
as "double opt-in" and assures that it was really you that wanted to
subscribe. The problem is that we haven't received your confirmation
back and so you won't be getting an issue of Homefires Hearth until we
hear from you.

If you still wish to receive Homefires Hearth each Tuesday, please hit
reply to this message and you will be confirmed. If you don't wish to
receive this fine free ezine, delete this message and you won't hear
from us again.
