It is the same. And worse because of the size. :( And I also heard of
the first VBScribt virus integrated into PDF (this goes to Pamela, I
hope she forgives me).

BTW, I did not have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and I had to spend
some time to download it. And it is only today that I opened the
currentissue by David Hallum. But you know what? I will never regret
it, because the ezine is just GREAT! I don't know where David gets the
inspiration and time, but he is doing a terrific job. And I truthfully
wish his ePublishing prognosis is right - because he is worth it. And
he has also gotten me as a subscriber.

And there is one more thing. It relates to what Mark Brownlow said
recently: users are not used to recieving issues in PDF format. In the
early days people were "not used" to flying airplains or working with
a computer. Time shows that those who challenged the stereotypes, won
the game. David is challenging this stereotype this very time. Why not
try to help him and see how it works out?

Assuming http:// works in any e-mail program is not oversimplification
(I agree with John here). It SHOULD work in all email programs. It is
only assuming your subscribers use a NORMAL e-mail client, which is
the same thing as to assume they have a computer. This may sound a
little bit tough, but this is the way things are. There are standards
in this world, and whenever a user refuses to follow them, it is a
problem of his own. Am I not democratic enough? Well, I guess I am.
But this non-democracy differs from that of AOL or Microsoft. By
making HTML or PDF the only format for your zine you don't force your
subscribers into buying expensive software packages - you are just
asking them to do a little bit of extra work.

And, of course, you pay for it. David pays for it - and this is one of
the reasons I respect him and support his point of view. He pays by
loosing a great number of subscribers and maybe potential clients. But
I suggest we wait and see.
