Right!  I will say more: have you also noticed the decreased number of
visitors  to  the  archives  that  used to be open? What is it you are
fighting  for  - the number of subscribers or the number of people who
actually  READ?  By  making  your  archives  "secret"  you have surely
decreased the latter.
