Got an Ezine Marketing |
EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] ON - Line eZines vs. Email versions and PDF ezines
Hi,
I get the digest version so I'd like to put all my comments in one email.
I wrote an article on the different options folks have regarding
newsletters. Its very basic, but still lets you see the options. I will
pass the link for it onto this group, since we are all publishers, but
neither the article or link can be passed on. I use the article as part of
a class I teach for first time ezine creators and it's for my ezine readers.
Please don't forward this link or give it to anyone. Thanks in advance...

I prefer to use www.topica.com although it too is getting annoying - but
only because they're doing lots up upgrading. Topica ad is their own or
they give you options on promoting your ezine with their ads. I use
yahoogroups only when
I want fancy options with horrid ad's <g> Yahoo seems to be going more
towards a paid format for larger ezines. They are doing a survey on
business owners needs right now. Actually I have only one list there
because the ad's really are horrid!
Smartgroups is plain, but for a list where I need a calendar, it seems to be
OK. Ad is on the bottom of each post.
They don't let you "invite" folks though. So, each free ezine list has
features that a person might want to use or experiment with.
PDF. For me it's a matter of choice. My choice is to HATE pdf
newsletters. I read only one PDF newsletter and I'm thinking about
unsubscribing to that one too. I LOVE PDF downloads of larger items (ebooks
and the sort)
Ideal client - I think that the most important feature in an ezine, is to
know who your ideal client is. Personally, my ideal client is web savvy, is
getting there or wants to be there... so after AOL 6.0 came out, I took my
newsletter "HTML" when I expanded it and combined everything I was doing
into one ezine. I lost very few people... and my promotion policies have
taken the paper from 130 to over 500 HTML brings up another WHOLE topic
