Hi Selena >now and I hit sort of a snag. My husband saw the site that I was working on >and got upset because I put our home address on it. >What I wanted to know How important is it anyway to put your address on your website? The issue is one of credibility, to let visitors to your site know that there is a *real* person behind the enterprise. To that extent, I think it is important to provide contact details. However, I can see your husband's point of view. Security is a serious concern online, and there is a possibility of being harrassed at your home address. A work-around I have found useful is to provide a *partial* address, without details like apartment number (if you reside in a multi-apartment complex) or Street name. Or you could even safely leave out your address, and instead offer a phone/fax/email contact number at which people can contact you, or even a *business* address. I also think having a photograph of yourself on a website is more important in showing the *human* face of your business, than any other information. Although my many websites have been up for over six years, I am still to receive any mail or offers to my physical address - so I don't consider it to be Business-Threatening.
