I  agree  100%  with  all you said in your message, Shephen. There are
indeed not many reasons to keep archives private.

If  you  are  afraid  of losing subscribers because of making archives
public,  try  this  piece  of  advice.  It is actually quite a general
trick:  you  make  your  issues accessable in archives after a certain
period  of  time - it can be a week or a month, depends on the type of
your ezine and how often it comes out.
