As a listowner who was blocked for a while (3 weeks approx.) by AOL, I
know the problems this can bring.
So - on principle, I shouldn't use Spamcop. Nevertheless, I need to
do SOMETHING to report the vast amounts of spam I get. I never send
anything to Spamcop that's questionable, but I probably use them 5-12
times a day. It annoys the dickens when spammers get hold of addies
meant for submissions, subbing, etc!
I don't have the knowledge or time to break these addresses down. So
what does one do? I don't want to do nothing, particularly when it
seems that the days I don't bother with Spamcop and delete it instead,
I actually get an increase! If nothing, Spamcop is a teeny deterrent.
And when I get obscene pornographic spam (and I NEVER remotely have
anything to do with porn), I get really steamed as I have young
children who are now starting to read over my shoulder and its only by
the grace of God that I don't have to answer what a teen slut is!
