If you don't have a merchant account and download system set up, an easy 
way to get started is to upload your ebook to InfoPost 
<http://www.infopost.com>.  They don't charge a set-up or maintenance fee, 
just a 20% commission when you sell.  They handle the credit card 
transactions and downloads.  You can probably do it cheaper by putting 
together the pieces yourself, but that takes time, know-how and more.  This 
is fast and easy.

I've been selling "The Mystery Shopper's Manual" there for about a 
year.  You can set up a page with a description of your book, keywords and 
more, and you set the price you want to charge.

Now for the disadvantages:  They don't seem to get a lot of traffic.  I 
think most/all of the sales I've made there have been buyers I 
referred.  That's OK--I use them, in effect, as a fulfillment service.  I 
just put a link to my ebook page from my website (you can see what I mean 
at http://www.idealady.com/mysteryshop.htm.)  You'll need to find a way to 
get people to your book--through your newsletter, your website, posting 
articles around the web, etc.

The other disadvantage is that I don't get any information about who bought 
my ebook, so I don't have any record of those customers. Of course, I don't 
have any record of who buys my books at Amazon.com, either, so it just goes 
with the territory of selling through others.
