[epub] Re: WWL
World Wide Lists has been taking a lot of bashing on this site
and I just wanted to say a few things in their defense. First off
the subscribers they send you are completely opt in. If you want
them to be "double opt in" to be extra safe you can request that
but you won't get near as many subscribers per day. Yes, there
are a lot of free addresses like Hotmail and Yahoo but if you
think about it many people online are sick of all the Spam and
crap they get so they open free boxes and funnel all of their
ezines into them.....I run over 3 ezines with a total subscriber
base of over 8,000 and many people do use Hotmail...It's really
not out of the norm or anything to make one suspicious.

I have used World Wide Lists to build some of my subscriber bases
and I did have one incident where someone who had subscribed thru
them wrote to me and said someone else had maliciously subscribed
him to my ezine and some others on World Wide Lists and did I
have a copy of the IP address and subscribe request. I forwarded
his comments to World Wide Lists and within a few hours they sent
both of us a copy of the IP address and when they had subscribed.
They offer proof of subscribership on every address if you need
it....they will back you up and keep complete records.

No, this is not the only way to build your list but it is another
way to grow your ezine base in a faster way....come on people
give them a break they're really not so bad.....like everything
else in life you can't please all of the people all of the
time...and if you look at their site you'll see plenty of happy
users who have testified to the
fact...http://www.worldwidelists.com/listbuilder/details.html

Hello,

I have followed the conversations about World Wide Lists with
interest. I had been tempted to consider using them but of all
the accolades many people gave them over time I continued to hear
of little red flags that warned me that they just can't be on the
up and up. No matter how many subscribers they could give me I
will never be willing to let an outside service risk the
reputation I am building with my subscribers.

I'm in it for the long haul and anyone that promises hundreds of
subscribers better have their noses squeaky clean!
