Hi Jonni

This may not answer your question directly, but may help
solve your problem.  Unless I've totally misunderstood what
Will told me, his Master Subscribe script allows your site
visitors to sign up for an ezine *without* having to leave
your site.  Hence, an exit pop-up wouldn't show up as the
visitor is still on your page.

I think the script also works with common free services like
Topica, Yahoo Groups and previously ListBot.
