Dawn, you've pretty much nailed it down. The most successful newsletters
seem to have rediscovered basic journalism. They write articles using the
inverted pyramid method. The most important information or a summary is in
the first one or two paragraphs. The following paragraphs are used to
expound on or go more in depth with the main story points.

This method of writing is perfect for newsletters. Put the first 'graph or
two in the newsletter, then a clickable link to the website page for the
full story. Sucks 'em right in.

Fascinating how the old is new again.
