[epub] RE: Autoresponders as a list hosting solution?

This is indeed what I've been looking for and talking about for
a long time.  I run a Bible-chapter-a-day ezine service which
is a pain since subscribers have no control over where they
enter in the series.  Also I'd like them to be able to be in
different places at one time. Thank you for bringing this to my
attention.  I've been asking everyone I could about a service
like this and nobody could come up with one.

Hi all.

I recently had the chance to try out an *autoresponder*
script as a list distribution tool, and it worked quite well.
Can't say for sure how well it will work for large lists,
but for one of my ezines with around 2000 subscribers,
it went off without a hitch.

I'm a person who likes to keep things under my control
rather than that of a host or service, especially something
as valuable as my subscriber email list.  But running a large
list off my own computer has problems, esp. if you connect
to the Internet using a dial-up or slow link.

A workable alternative is a server-based autoresponder
script - and I prefer one that is under my control.  And
recently I was privileged to beta-test Will Bontrager's
latest creation - Master E-Responder.

It is a fabulous script, and does several things including
acting as a follow-up *smart* autoresponder and an
ezine distribution program.  The features and the level
of customization it allows are simply far superior to any
of the other commercial programs I've tried before like
GetResponse, Aweber, Fetchreply and FreeAutoBot (all
of these are pretty good, btw)

Personally, I liked the fact that the script is installed
in my own cgi-bin, and the entire database of addresses
and names on every list resides *only* on my own server.
And yes, you can run unlimited autoresponders from just
the one script.
