SpamCop is a freaking joke, and those of us that have worked long and hard 
to develop an HONEST opt in only list are all too aware of it.

These clowns (using polite terminology there) can have any bozo at all file 
a complaint against you real or otherwise.

No proof, no nothing. Just one complaint, and your Host can throw you out 
on your keister.

I have a good friend, an honest hard working Grandmother who sells an ebook 
on how to raise children to have manners and good self images. She made the 
"mistake" of running a paid ad in a newsletter that was advertised as opt 
in ONLY.

Only problem was, one clown on the list forgot he was on there, and filed a 
BOGUS Spamcop complaint. He complained about EVERY email address, EVERY url 
that was in the newsletter.

Never mind that the advertisers (and most likely the publisher himself) was 
innocent....

Just one push of a button, one misinformed fool filing a false complaint...

Net result - Host4profit shut her down on the spot.

No trial, no judge, no jury, no "presumed innocent until proven guilty"...

Nothing at all, except headaches, embarrassment and the loss of almost a 
month's worth of income.

Anybody that thinks "SpamCop" is a solution is only fooling themselves.

The REAL professional spammers are essentially unstoppable - they hack into 
servers with open relays, they mail from places like China and Malaysia.

The only thing SpamCop does is shut down the hapless schmucks who are brand 
new and don't know any better than to buy one of those "Million email 
address" CDs, or those ads that say "blast your ad to 100,000 safe lists".

Wow - it takes a BIG man to shut down some poor misguided newbie. Screw 
SpamCop, and shame on ANYBODY that would even consider them to be a part of 
the solution.

Responsible, opt in ONLY marketers need to be a little more vocal about 
SpamCop's OUTRAGEOUS conduct - their self appointed, "holier than thou" 
attitude.

Thank God I was smart enough to get with a Host that knows I am a 
responsible opt in only marketer, and will back me up against bogus and 
sometimes downright malicious false spam complaints.

Unfortunately, not all of us are that fortunate.

Thankfully, people like Elena are willing to stand up and speak up for 
everybody.

And even more thankfully, some of us are ready to SUE anybody and everybody 
that files false accusations. She isn't the only one with a Lawyer to back 
her up, and I can tell you that you will see more and more suits like this 
bought to bear...
