It's not piracy, and it's nothing that scary or hard to understand. A 
couple of the latest viruses pull random addresses from the infected 
person's computer to put in the "From" address of the messages the 
virus sends out, making them very difficult to trace, and certainly 
not from whom they appear to be from.

If you're a PC user, it's vitally important to keep your anti-virus 
software up to date these days. Some (all?) varieties of the Klez 
virus activate today (5/6/02) if you're already infected. If you're a 
Mac user, you don't have anything to worry about.

Whether you're a Mac or PC user, it's smart to keep up on the latest 
viruses so you understand what's going on when you receive messages 
like you describe. Symantec has excellent information updated daily.
