[epub] Getting Permission for an article

Here is the story.  There is an article that appeared on the American
Express site that I wanted to use in my ebook and link to it on my business
resources page. I asked for permission and after 2 or 3 unanswered requests,
I heard from their legal division who said "no" to both things. (which is
why I am not including the link <g>)

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions, other them me writing the
article myself (which I've started to do), about somehow finding the author.
The article is about the cycles of a business and I'm wondering if anyone
has some great resources for them.  I know that the Amex article didn't
contain anything I haven't read or heard before...  I just liked the
simplicity of how they wrote it.
