dear ed,

who tallied up the "150" spammers list? is the list publicly posted
anywhere?

here's my little trio of stats for you data-lovers:

(1) i personally get thousands of spam emails every day, offering everything
from family-focused products; to donations for otherwise-respected
non-profits; to financial services; to steamy invitations to join a group of
Asian bisexuals in an online chat and spank.

(2) there are certainly more than 150 unique spammers in my trash folder
right now.

(3) the best way i know of stopping the continuance of spam-growth (or any
nemesis, for that matter) is, quite simply, to beat them at their own game.
this machiavellan method works equally well in politics, war, and business.

my suggestion: fill out tons of fake records when they ask for your info,
and spam the living heck out of those spammers. heck, they send me so much
shovelware emails that it usually clogs my bandwidth up... so, just turn the
tables on them ... bandwidth is NOT free -- even for unscrupulous
spammers... and if they suddenly have a huge publishing overhead and a zero
sales rate, then they're sure to leave the business altogether, to seek
greener pastures elsewhere. that, in turn, will leave our pastures to
greenify themselves again, in time for the next big wave of genuine online
marketing.
