[epub] Re: Faked email addresses
Email spoofing will continue to be possible as long
as ISP's allow what is known as "relaying".

That is - sending email as if you were someone else
(from some other domain name).

Many ISP's don't allow relaying, and if you tried to
send email from you@xxxxxxxxxx (assuming
you don't own domain.com), then the SMTP server
will reject the email asking you to enter login
details of that email address.

Obviously, you won't have it because you don't own
the domain name, and hence the sp`am gets stopped
even before it is sent.

Until the day all ISP's do it (not much hope they will),
there is no way for you to do anything to prevent it
from your end.

It's like "identity theft" and I've been a victim myself for a
few months now. If the person doing it to you is good, and mine
is, they are very hard to catch and stop. If you find a way
please let me know. The only way someone can tell you didn't
really send it is if they look at the headers.
