[epub] Further implications of spoofed emails

I just received this message from a corporate email virus scanning service
in response to one of those spoofed, fake emails that I didn't send. They
say that I sent an email containing a virus, that it is quarantined and that
it will be destroyed. There's a link in their email suggesting I get their
service, thus, they spam those who have been victims of spammers to promote
their service. I sent them a note, along with a copy of the notice that
says.

MessageLabs,

You have received, quarantined and responded to an email with spoofed return
address that did not and could not come from me as I am on a Mac computer
using an old Netscape that doesn't pass Outlook based virus files and have
never seen the email address that it was sent to.

Do NOT report this email as being from my domain to any hosts or spam
organizations. I am vehemently anti-spam and offer an anti-spam tutorial at
http://Website101.com/SpamFilter/

Further, you should stop sending these emails reflexively or automatically
to gain business as this is spam in itself - sent in response to spam sent
by another party stealing my identity.

Check with your attorneys on the advisability and liability involved in 
this practice. I'll be speaking to my own attorney to determine if I need 
to consider any course of action should this progress beyond this point.
