EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] Digests, archives, plain text and apology
Greetings from your moderator! Or, as they say over on the Adventive discussion lists, "your striving moderator." I'm still not sure what that means! http://www.up2speed.com/ First, the apology. I had to reconstruct the post from Sue that went out on Monday, and it did not have the information that usually runs at the end, in the footer. Has join, leave, post and digest information in it. You've probably been overlooking it for a long time, but if you needed it the one time it didn't go in, it's at the bottom here now. Three things I'd like to remind folks about (pardon the bad grammar!): 1. Please send posts ONLY in plain text. NOT in multipart. Lyris just doesn't handle it properly. I have been shaving the formatted text off the bottom of some posts for a while, but some posts have come in that I can't even modify to make sure everyone's email client can read them. So -- especially if you use AOL, Incredimail or other email clients that allow you to send cleverly formatted text -- it's wasted here. Please, plain text only; otherwise, I'll have to return it to you. Thanks. 2. Chris Knutson, our VP of technology here at EmailUniverse.com, has been working like crazy to redesign our sites and make them more useful. We now have all the archives housed on epub's homepage, going back to the old, old days when epub was hosted on Onelist (which became egroups, which became Yahoo! Groups). Plus, if you want to search for a topic or an old post in the archives, the search engine will allow you to limit your search only to epub instead of going through every record on EmailUniverse.com . This is a tremendous enhancement. Find the archives here: http://emailuniverse.com/epub/archives/ 3. We've had a lot of message volume in the last couple of weeks, which is wonderful. Thanks to everyone who has contributed, whether you're a regular name or a member who's just making that all-important first post. However, if you're getting too many messages and have too little time to read, sign up for the digest instead. You'll get either one mailing a day with all the messages for that day in it, or else one mailing with 25 messages if the volume goes way high. The address to join the digest is in the footer information below. Don't forget to unsub from the individual message list, too! Thanks, and let's keep the conversation rolling! Janet epub moderator
