EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] Re: Virus problems - how they affect the publisher
I use a catch all email also. The virus' are forging email addresses that are incoming and or outgoing. (*@yourdomain.com) This has been going on for several years. I think the solution is in better informing visitors. The virus checkers do not always work, I know and have experienced a couple. The news says "worst yet"; "spreading faster" and does real people little good. All that news has done is cause alarm. Visitors/surfers/ do not know what to watch out for and or what to do if something happens. We do not want them to shut down and never visit again! Our customers/visitors spend money to have a PC. They spend money to get online. They hear rumors that their security is at risk, their children are at risk, and do not even know what they are afraid of. They have budgets in mind... The first all inclusive virus program I tried prevented ALL mail from having attachments and caused my machine to slow to an unbearable crawl. I feel the answer is help and information. I have written some no advertising pages. (Be aware this is not adult content but is on an adult only server) If you would add anything please share with me, and if it is helpful, you may copy, change anything to your own server. My point is I do not want visitors who are afraid or full of the rumors of evil.
