EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] Re: Virus problems - how they affect the publisher
On Thursday, August 28, 2003, at 03:51 PM, Lois Carter Fay/Marketing Idea Shop wrote: If someone gets either of these viruses now, it is really their own fault because they aren't following good computer usage and protection practices. Their fault, but your name on the line. I have had my first message of complaint from someone who received the virus with my address on the sender. I've tried to explain how the virus works, that it wasn't me who sent it and as a Mac user there is no way I could have sent it. He passed out an eMail to his address book telling them I was a source of the virus, which I now know about thanks to another of my subscribers forwarding it to me. This has been passed to his boss and my lawyer for comment. So my business has now been put at risk by someone else who I don't know (other than I'm in their address book somewhere). Not fun!
