[epub] have you experienced a ddos-attack, and what did you do about it?

As I'm writing this email I'm getting ddos:ed by some "well meaning" person 
out there on the net. I can't do anything about it from my place, what I 
know of - as my bandwidth is rather limited (512kbits both ways) and I 
don't have access to a router at a higher place in the network topology to 
block these hosts (virus-infested users) to access my particular host.

(This email is being sent via my local smtp-server, with smart relay, so I 
can only hope that this email goes out in time.)


Anyways;
In this moment of more or less despair (it's not the first time this 
happens), I want to ask some questions:

1. Have any of you guys experienced this?
2. Did you get help from your ISP when such an event occurred?

It would be interesting to read your views and experiences.
