Does anyone have statistics on how many people use RSS or have even
heard of it?

Spam does hurt the performance of email, but if your goal is broad
distribution, I suspect email is still the way to go. RSS is still way
below the radar for most people, so even the after-filtering performance
of email is still probably going to give you more subscribers than RSS
due to the technology hurdle RSS would likely pose for many. RSS might
make sense where the audience is highly targeted and technologically
savvy.

These are the days I can see the sense for RSS. What does anybody else
think of this idea, to move to direct feeds instead of sending via
email?
