Yes, centralized filtering by AOL was what I really meant in my original
message, not blocking done by AOL users. My question, more precisely
phrased, is: Given no interference (blocking) at the user level, does
AOL's central filtering operation treat all incoming mail equally?
It seems that, in theory, the first step would be for AOL's central
filter to look at the incoming email without assessing any
user-requested filtering. THEN they would look to see what filtering the
user has requested. It's the first, central step that I was trying to
get an assessment of, re: if I get the broadcast email in my AOL test
account, can I feel sure that the message was passed through at least by
the central filter.
I do recognize the possibility that an idiot user would request my
emails and then later block me, but I'm only referring to those who have
not done so.
