Hi all-

Regarding deciphering bounces from AOL,
each bounce has a code in it. I don't have
them in front of me at the moment, but from
what I remember, anything with a 400 number,
is a problem with a mailbox (eg, box full), 
anything with a 500 number is a service
refused.  It's the latter where you want to
put your attention. (I apologize if I got
the #s wrong, but the bounce messages do
give a brief explanation)

Janet and I have emailed off-list on this
topic.  Part of what I shared with her is that the
main course of action to take is via your
outgoing email or ezine service provider.  AOL is
reluctant and slow to work with individual
senders on this issue and is much more
receptive to system admin folks.  Individually, 
you may be able
to get a green light from AOL, but if others
on the same outgoing mail server &/or isp are blocked,
the green light won't mean much.

It was a hassle, but they did clear up our
situation eventually.  If you're having
problems delivering to AOL, ask your service
provider to deal with them.  If they're not
willing to do so, I recommend seeking out
a more cooperative service provider.
