Got an Ezine Marketing |
EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] ezine ads & list managers, misc
Hi, Everyone ...
First, I want to thank everyone for all their input a couple of weeks ago
about how to best relaunch my ezine. I integrated a lot of your input and
verbiage and sent out my announcement last week. I decided not to ask people to
resubscribe but to give clear upfront instructions how to unsubscribe if they so
desired. To my relief and amazement, no one accused me of spam. In fact, I
got a few responses indicating they had missed my publication and felt it was
one of the best business ones out there. At least I know someone is reading it
:)).
Anyway, I have a couple of questions as I get back into the ezine world. I
am looking for some ezines to place an ad for a teleclass that I am doing for
women business owners. If it is a paid ad, what is a fair price to pay? Where
are the best places/ways to find ezines that target the same market? Are
there other more effective ways to get the word out there, besides promoting in
my own ezine and posting at teleclass web sites?
Second question - I signed up with my current host because it seemed to have
one of the best mailing list features. From day 1, my web master has had many
challenges in linking the subscribe form to the web host mail manager. He
had spent many hours with their tech support in getting it hooked up properly.
It was working for awhile and now there seems to be a glitch. When someone
subscribes now, I get confirmation yet their name does not appear on the list.
Tech support is now telling me that there is some problem with the
configuration of the form (which I have no idea what they are talking about).
Now for the question - is this a common problem when linking subscribe forms
to a web host? Any feedback on where I should go from here? Right now my
most of my subscriber base is at topica but I don't want to move it till I can
get this issue resolved with web host. I prefer integrated solutions - ie.,
having list management capabilities through my web host rather than use a
separate list manager vendor. Right now it is chewing up alot of my time so I need
to get it resolved. I just don't have a clear sense of my alternatives, or
even what the real issue is. (and my webmaster is in Europe right now.)
Thanks for all your input.
Warmly,
Denise
