Yup. All the time.
It's especially common with pay per subscriber services, but I
get it through my site occasionally, too.
Morons, usually using someone else's address, hoping you'll
mail merge the vulgarities into a message to the people whose
addresses were forged.
Make sure they're not subscribed, and forget about them.
Anything that has the words spam, chick, gurl, cutie, death,
dude, dewd, 69, or a bunch of other patterns gets pulled
before I even start eyeballing the addresses at this point.
This might not be appropriate for general consumer lists. I
run a fairly serious business list, so there's more concern
about those folks.
Yes, I probably lose a small number of legit subscribers that
way. I also keep the problem children (literally and
figuratively) off the list with this approach.
I don't take people too seriously businesswise when I see
usernames like "hotchick69" or "deathknight2000."
