EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] RE: Trade mark violation?
PS. I just found their site... pretty ugly... http://www.srhadenindustries.com/s-r-haden-sites.htm
they own about 100 domain names, from many professions but including
coaching. And they own a site with laws of attraction in it, too.
There is a note on the bottom of their site blacklisting 3 different coaches,
their web sites and phone numbers and one person whose name I don't
recogonize.
They're a US company, located in Portland Oregon, who purchased
weeklymarketingwidsom 12/03 I nkow that kendal had the name for her
ezine way longer than that. They purchased a
free disclaimer for their site, too. Interesting.
Best of success and lots of
joy,

is interesting Dianne,
Many
years ago, I received a simliliar note, directly from Barbara Sher because the
term Success Teams was on my site. Every now and again, she checks the
search engines and alerts people. She said she owned the term, and if I
wanted to use it, I had to include a sentance about her book with an active
link on my site.
So I
removed it.
I'd
write to Kendal and let her know. She's had that ezine name for many, many
years and I see a [tm] by it, so that, to me means she owns the
trademark
The
other thing is, and this is sad to say, with lawyer happy folks, is it worth
fighting? In the situation I was in, I thought not, so I just changed the
term to Success Circles.
Best of success and lots of
joy,

I got this email today:From: Dianne Reuby [mailto:d.reuby@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, May 10, 2004 4:23 PM To: Epub Discussion Group Subject: [epub] Trade mark violation? Dear Web site Owner, The page in question has an article (which I have permission to use) by Kendall Summerhawk. Can the phrase "weekly marketing wisdom" really be trade marked? Surely it's too general a term for that. I'm in the UK, but presumably any US trademark laws would be international. My main question is really - how far should we go in checking out articles supplied by the article banks?
