[epub] RE: Bonded Sender results?
Christopher,

We've been using Bonded Sender for about a year now. It was relatively easy
to set up and by all appearances they take great care to ensure that the
system is clean (we had to answer a lot of questions about the origin of our
addresses, our methods for collecting and managing them, etc). Once set up,
no effort is required to maintain the system -- every once in a while they
send you a statement to show if anyone has reported you as spam, and
otherwise it runs itself. Additional servers/IP addresses can be covered
under the same bond/usage fee.

In terms of results, we believe it has had a positive impact although the
myriad of variables involved makes it harder to quantify. As you infer, the
recipient system has to check incoming messages against the Bonded Sender
whitelist for it to make a difference and we don't know (other than
Hotmail/MSN) which other ISPs do that.

Compared to Habeas, the cost of Bonded Sender is much lower and we've found
it to be an economically viable first line of defense -- one that has been
recommended to us by more than one consultant as something we definitely
ought to do.

All in all, we consider it to be a very good value for us (we send out about
1.5mm messages a month to our own B2C opt-in mail list) and we will
unquestionably be renewing the service again for '05.
