[epub] RE: How do I get subscribers?
Here are a few other way to get targeted subscribers...

1) I remember a lesson I learned - it's targeted clients. I had a list that
I grew to 5K people, using all those popup things on the Internet. It was
great getting 100 new subscribers per month for my "little" ezine. However,
I got rid of it - the ezine and everyone on it - well 400 people moved to
the new list ;) . 5K people who only want to glean great aricles/tips, who
won't pay for anything, who unsubscribe right after their free report, and
who, in droves, don't know how to unsubscribe from elists, aren't my ideal
clients!

2) put that you have one in your signature line.

3) create post cards with your ezine information, to hand out at events (I
will take mine back if they give me their email address/name/phone on the
card (phone on to call them if I can't read their email address. I save
their postcards after I add them to my list.

4) at events, I ask them to write Yes, Ezine OK on the back of their biz
card, if they provide me with permission to add them to my list.

5) When I speak or teach, after the first break, around a sign up for my
ezine sheet(s). I will be happy to pass that form along to anyone who
requests it. All I ask is that you include my little copyright line on the
bottom of it!

6) Articlebanks.com - My article on article banks is one of the most
"reused" articles I have produced. When I started my biz, I decided that
writing articles and speaking were the two ways I'd market it. Two years
ago, after Marcia Yudkins, asked to Interview me for her updated book, and
she wanted to talk about Article Banks as a way to market biz and increase
links.

7) I started a submission service for writers, and there are a few others
out there, too. So people are using articles as a way to marketing their
biz and increase link popularity to their site.

8) I added my warning to my ezine subscription box. I'm working to use to
highlight the words "
f**R$ee newsletter" even more.

9) As follow up to those I meet at "events", who are my ideal client, or are
in touch with them, I send them an article of mine. Yes, to get them to my
web site; but even more to subscribe to my ezine!

10) I exchange ezine links with my subscribers - well 40 words and a link.
That brings people to my site from theirs who may subscribe.

11) There are many sites and folks out their that will swap ezine ads.

12) Take articles or assessments you've created and turn them into a free
report; which you allow others (maybe others who don't enjoy writing) to use
to promote their ezine.

13) Teach teleclasses! Great way to get targeted folks to your site; and
sign up box.

14) To keep subscribers and look more professional (I'm a writer, not
editor), I hired a copyrighter! Plus having someone to check my articles,
has helped me go from writing 1 a month to 4-5 per month!

15) Send a survey to your readers yearly; get them involved in your
business!

16) Include information on whitelisting in your welcome note.

Of course, look for a finale version of this tip sheet, and more ways to
gain subscribers, to be included in my Ezine Ebook!

Best of success and lots of joy,
Maria Marsala
