Then they need to either get additional addresses, or stop the
challenge/response and autoresponder stuff.

Rant warning:

For the past month, I have been getting 2000 to 3000 bounces
every day from spams sent with my email address in the From
field. That's on top of the 3000+ spams that are directed to
my own addresses. I get dozens of challenge/response emails
every day from people who think that it's my job to keep their
email box spam free.

And a comment spammer just discovered my blog.

I am not in the mood to be tactful.

Anyone who defends the practice of using autoresponses of any
kind on an address that is subscribed to one or more lists
should have their computer confiscated. They are clearly not
suited to participating in a network that exists based on the
mutual consideration and forethought of its members.

When something is convenient for one person but inconvenient
in unpredictable ways to unknown quantities of random
strangers - it should not be allowed.

Thinking that it should is precisely what created the problem
of spam in the first place.
