[epub] Re: Deliverability Q's

In the last 3 months, have you tested anything to improve your ability to get your email newsletters or email marketing messages delivered?

If so, what did you test and which strategy created the biggest increase in results for your business?

Yes, if you'd call this a test. I happen to host with a company that allows me to have access to my zone file, so I published an SPF record. The record I published authenticated email I sent via smtp connection but not via the shared mx server I'm on. Then I started sending my HTML newsletters via smtp and my text newsletters via the host's Sendmail program/shared mx server.

The results have been fairly spectacular. My HTML list, which is the larger of the two, almost never generates a bounce message anymore, while bounces for the text list continue at about the same rate as before.

Next step is to adjust the SPF record to account for the mx server, and see if that has the same effect on my text newsletter.

Cheers!
