EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] Re: List Fatigue (EPUB Q? of the week)
3) What do you do with your fatigued list members? We had a problem with slowly but steadily declining responsiveness, so we switched to six-month subscriptions. Every six months, the reader can click a link to extend for another six months. The idea was that we wanted only those on our list that took the time to open the email. Subscribers have to click twice a year to keep Possibilities arriving at their e-box. It cured the lackluster responsiveness. Survey participation requests and product recommendations now almost always have a response rate of over 10%, and have occasionally broken 20%. The list is now about a third the size as before we implemented expiring subscriptions a year or so ago. But response is 7-12 times as high. Knowing someone is actually listening tends to improve my writing.
