[epub] Re: Looking for ezine program for non-techies
There were two other programs that I took for a test drive that might be worth mentioning. Both have a 30 day demo that you can download for the trial period.

http://www.newsletterease.com/ Newsletterease - I started to demo this one, and I liked how it handled bounced messages and unsubscribes. By the time I got back to it, the 30 day trial date had run out. It's been a while since I did a demo on this program. When I requested another download, they sent me the download link, but when I reinstalled, it let me know that the 30 day demo was expired. So I didn't complete the demo process. $499.00 for the premier version, more for the others.

http://www.emill.net/emill.htm Emill also seemed to be a neat program. Has a built in html editor with a viewer for html code and preview of the finished email. (like Dreamweaver does) I liked this feature, although it *did* want to access MS Word/Frontpage for some reason. I didn't like the way it sent out email messages -- most of the test messages to hotmail didn't get sent or were not delivered. I ended up setting up a mailing list group on my mail server (Mdaemon) and sending to the 1 address of email group and having Mdaemon send out the emails. That worked for me, but seemed like an extra unnecessary step just to get ALL the email sent. It also seemed like a lot of work to get all of the config settings taken care of. $499.00 for the pro version, more for the others.

Of course I have no interest in any of these programs, but I also am searching for the perfect solution. I would like to see good tracking on delivered/viewed and bounce/unsubscribes. I plan on installing phplist this week and giving it the work-over. If it does the trick, free sounds like a good price. ;-)
I'll report back here on my phplist test drive.

Jeff
