[epub] Re: Using 3rd Party Program vs hosting your own Enewsletter
Here's what my hosting company (amhosting.com) said in response to my query about AOL "spam" reports from two of my subscribers. I asked if I needed to take any action with AOL:

"As long as you have the confirmed opt-in, take no answer as a "no" answer, and deal with unsubscriptions properly, you are doing fine in this abuse investigator's eyes.

Staying in AOL's good graces is my job. :)"

That made me very happy to have chosen this company. In the future, I will make sure only to use hosting companies that take that attitude!

Hi again,

As if I don't have enough problems with all this...

I've been asked by a medium sized non-profit organization, whom I do
volunteer work for- I am on the board- to help them find an ezine program.
The person who is stepping down as their web person has said that it is not
a good idea for the org to host its own because all it takes is for one
person to complain about spam (even though they will have an opt in
subscriber list), for the whole site to potentially be shut down.

Thoughts?

Terry
