Here's what my hosting company (amhosting.com) said in response to my 
query about AOL "spam" reports from two of my subscribers. I asked if 
I needed to take any action with AOL:

"As long as you have the confirmed opt-in, take no answer as a "no" 
answer, and deal with unsubscriptions properly, you are doing fine in 
this abuse investigator's eyes.

Staying in AOL's good graces is my job.  :)"

That made me very happy to have chosen this company. In the future, I 
will make sure only to use hosting companies that take that attitude!
