Using Your Email Newsletter During a Product Launch: 5 Tips

Whether you are launching a new product or service or re-launching an existing product - your ezine has an important role to play in the market demand or interest that you want to generate. Here are 5 quick tips: 1) Consistency is key. If you are the type of ezine publisher that only produces an email newsletter when it's convenient for you and many months or quarters pass between issues expect to have a poor response. Your list members don't want to hear from you only when you have something to sell them. Trust, confidence and respect comes from being consistent in your publishing schedule. 2) Leak out tidbits of information many weeks in advance. Your goal is to sell the sizzle. Show "spy" photos of the product in development. Begin building the mystery behind the product launch. 3) Move to a solo-mailing when the importance of your upcoming product launch is near and you have some valuable content to share with them in exchange for them joining your product launch alert email list. What? You don't have one yet? Get one. A "solo-mailing" means a mailing to your email newsletter base without the normal newsletter format or contents. 4) Orchestrate a process for your product launch that involves mailing to your email newsletter base. This is not a time to haphazardly send emails to your list, but rather a planned sequence of events will produce a better result. 5) Have a contest to help convert the prospects in your email newsletter base into product launch email alert members that you can mail to more frequently. You may also wish to capture the postal mailing address of your ezine members so that you can do a series of drip-marketing postcards via snailmail prior to your product launch.
